I wasn't really talking about marriage. I was talking more about my own struggle with insecurity and how I'm learning to see things through God's eyes.

But on the subject of men ... I'm pretty sure most men in this world do not see their wives that way. Even out of the Christian men who have taken my survey about porn have admitted to not being able to see their wives true beauty because they can't get the images media feeds them.

There are many men out there who view beauty, love, marriage, women, and their wives through God's eyes, but most I have talked to do not. Yet.

This is why celebrity crushes (even in Christian marriages) are normal and accepted.

So, while a man should be seeking to see the world through God's eyes ... women can't depend on men to see them through God's eyes. They have to look beyond men to find their true validation. Their hope is in Jesus.

Haha. Sure, I guess that might have sounded tenuous.

The cure to a woman's insecurity is to look at herself the way God sees her: perfect the way God intended her.

And the best way for a husband to help is to love her by seeing her the way God sees her. Yes, he can appreciate her physical beauty, and that can help with insecurity (I would assume), but loving her through God's eyes will help her so much more, I think.

If a woman can look at herself through her husband's eyes and see herself the way God sees her....that's pretty much the best of both worlds, isn't it?

David S.
